Karis Almy

Her cute little family!

There is a beautiful baby girl named Karis Almy who needs prayers.  She was born June 29, 2010 and six months later she was diagnosed with Krabbe's (Krabba) disease.  It is an extremely rare disease that breaks down the white matter in her brain, not allowing the muscles to receive signals from the nerves.  It is a progressive disease that will cause more and more muscles to become affected.  Most babies that are diagnosed with Krabbe's disease at Karis's age do not live longer than 13 months.  Karis receives OT and PT four times a week, which is helping her little muscles alot.  There is a pancake breakfast being held in her honor on Saturday morning, September 25, 2010.  Tickets are $5 and proceeds will go to help with Karis's medical expenses.  Anyone who wants to buy tickets or donate let me know!

Her parents have started the 629 project where they are asking everyone to pray at 6:29 every day.  Pray for strength, peace, and encouragement for her parents, and healing for Karis.

You can find out more information on this website: Karis Almy.  There are updates posted by Karis's parents about her progress!

Fall!

"Delicious Autumn! My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns!" -George Eliot

Have I mentioned that Fall is my most favorite season of the year?  It's not too cold, and not too hot.  There is football and comfort food, fall clothes and pretty leaves.  It means my favorite issue of Martha Stewart is coming out and God's creation makes for the most inexpensive and beautiful decorations! I have already begun decorating our home for fall.  I made my very first wreath all by myself.  I put wildflowers in a beautiful pitcher for a vase. Now all I lack are the pumpkins!  First I want to show you my inspiration, and in a later post I will show you what I have made!
