Life after the Wedding

Life has gotten back to semi-normal after all of the wedding hoopla.  We have managed to unpack all of our boxes of stuff and found a place for most all of our wedding gifts!  We have bought a new comforter for the bed, which I love! I will post pictures of the decorations later.  Joseph is working on a coffee table made from an old door, and a bed headboard made from an old fireplace mantel.  We have painted the living room and are about to start painting the kitchen.  We celebrated our one month anniversary right before Christmas.  He took me to Shapley's, which I had never been to, and surprised me!  They have the BEST steaks!  I completely forgot about our one month anniversary... does that make me a terrible wife?  For New Years, we visited Hannah and Kyle in New Orleans, we had a wonderful time catching up with old friends, some things never change!
I have made a list of the top ten things i love about being married!
1. There is always someone to turn out the lights at night, because he is always the last one in the bed!
2. I have a built in garbage man
3. I find towels hanging as new decorations throughout my house everyday
4. Camo has become part of the decorations in our house
5. I can cook whatever, and he pretends he loves it.
6. I have someone to help me write thank you notes
7. Always someone to make long trips with
8. There is someone to take care of my car!
9. He builds things... like coffeetables
10. He makes life more interesting, to say the LEAST!

whiplash

When we got home, our first night back from the honeymoon, and the first night back in our new home...We were upstairs and joseph thought he would be romantic and carry me down the stairs.  Joseph sweeps me up in his arms and begins down the stairs.  Our stairs are very slippery...  I say, "Don't falllll" and as I was getting the L sound out, he slips and hits the stairs.  Trying to keep me from getting hurt he lifts me up and tries to throw me up the stairs.  I landed really hard on my back.  At the time, that was the only thing that hurt.  We laughed until we cried.  I proceeded to walk safely down the stairs and pick up the camcorder to videotape the mess our house was in.  Not five minutes later, i started getting shooting pains up my neck.  I couldn't turn my head.  I put a hot pack on my neck and laid in bed for hours.  I couldn't lift my head off the bed! it was the worst pain I had ever felt.  We thought I was going to have to go to the emergency room.  We found out what it was: whiplash!  Needless to say Joseph felt awful! and we had a very memorable night in our new home together!  Not many people can tell that story!
