Twas the month before Christmas

Fall is my favorite time of the year, and for some odd reason, I love Halloween...usually.  I love the orange, gold, and brown colors of the season and the pumpkin flavored food.  This year, I could not get myself excited about any of it.  I haven't gotten around to doing any baking, but I did decorate at least.  I am however, already in the Christmas spirit this year!  I can't wait to decorate, and today it feels like a hot chocolate kind of day with gray skies and a cold breeze.  So, in the spirit of Christmas, here are some pictures of decoration inspiration!  Have I mentioned that I LOVE pinterest?

Vote YES on Amendment 26

In a sermon at Pinelake, our pastor gave biblical references for how we, as Christians, should vote on the upcoming ballot. If you are unsure of how you should vote, look at the following passages of scripture for direction.
Psalm 139:13-16
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full and well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

Jeremiah 1:4-5
The word of the Lord came to me, saying, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations"

Exodus 21:22-25
If men who are fighting hit a pregnant woman and she gives birth prematurely but there is no serious injury, the offender must be fined whatever the woman's husband demands and the court allows. But if there is serious injury, you are to take life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burn for burn, wound for wound, bruise for bruise

Psalm 127:3
Sons are a heritage from the Lord, children are a reward from him.

Matthew 18:10
See that you do not look down on one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven.

Amendment 26 will not ban birth control, but it will ban the "morning after pill"
Amendment 26 will not ban invitro fertilization, but it will ban destroying unused embryos.
Amendment 26 will not ban a doctor from saving the life of a mother with a problem pregnancy. The doctor will have to try and save BOTH, but if the baby becomes unviable, the doctor will have to save the mother.

If passed, we will be the first state in the NATION to enact a personhood amendment to protect unborn babies by banning abortion! Mississippi has the chance to LEAD in something!

Honkey Tonk Hubby

About a month ago, Joseph debuted his guitar and singing skills at Julep!

Southern Summer Barefoot Blue Jean Night

Every late September, Fondren (a funky neighborhood in jackson) hosts Symphony at Sunset.  The Mississippi Symphony plays a free concert which is held at The Cedars.  Everyone brings picnic baskets and blankets.  A little bit of history about the Cedars: built in 1840, it is Jackson's oldest standing residential structure. Joseph has lived here his whole life and never been.  We've both been missing out.  It reminded me of the ending scene of August Rush!  Here are some pictures.

It was a southern summer barefoot blue jean night.

Ideal Saturday

Our life hasn't been too exciting lately... other than work and weekends at home, so I have nothing to write about.  But then, I realized that the best days are the ones that are just regular ole days with JQ that don't have a hurried schedule or places to be.  So in honor of lazy, "boring" weekends, here are some pictures that would comprise my perfect Saturday.

Sleep Late

Cup of hot coffee

Joseph cooking breakfast...JK

Saturday morning breakfast nook

Farmers Market

Reading

Nap Time

Romantic Lakeside Picnic
or

Dinner with Friends!

I won't even talk about Autumn Saturdays... there's just too much goodness to handle in one post!
