Half Marathon

After ten weeks of training we finally finished our first half marathon!  Our small group trained together and finished!! It felt like such an accomplishment because last Spring, I could not even run one mile!!  So, that is inspiration for anyone who thinks that they can't do it!  We were also apart of a team formed by my aunt and uncle called The Natural Killer Cells because those are the cancer fighting cells in the body.  Here are a few pictures!!

Carb loading Friday night!!

Friday night on Beale Stree after dinner!  Look at our beautiful group!

There were THOUSANDS of runners!  This is at mile three and everyone still looks pretty good!

One Year Anniversary

Thanksgiving has come and gone and so has our one year anniversary, and Christmas is right around the corner!

I can't believe Joseph and I have been married for a year! This time last year, I was getting used to the real world again after our amazing honeymoon in St. Lucia!

For our first anniversary we went to Mentone, AL.  It is such a small, cozy little town where everyone knows each other.  The gift shops only open on the weekends, but there is tons of beautiful places to hike and the view of nature is amazing!

So the verdict is out...Life as a Queen is wonderful!

Engagements and Weddings Everywhere!

Pictures from Mary Elizabeth McCoy's wedding.  Mary Elizabeth was my roommate in Starkville and danced on the MSU pom squad while I cheered.  She married a wonderful guy who I just had the privelege of meeting!  They are back from their honeymoon safe and sound and are living in Columbia, SC!  Her wedding was beautiful!
Mary Claire and I... you will see more of her throughout the post
With all of the beautiful bridesmaids!  I am finally the TALL one! Kelsey and Beverly were cheerleaders with me at MSU

All of these weddings make me think about our wedding.. and we have an anniversary coming up this weekend!  On Sunday we will have been married for 365 days!  It's so hard to believe because time flies!

Halloweeeeeen

We had big plans this year to go to the Canton Corn Maze and pumpkin patch to celebrate fall.  Well they are only open on saturday nights... does that make sense to anyone?  We made the best of it and found a haunted house which turned out to be awesome!  It's the Dark Zone in Brandon.  We were in line behind about 100 people before we even got to the door of the haunted house!  Here are a few pictures:

These are the creatures that creep up behind you while you are waiting in line

His face after the haunted house! Scary, huh?

This week we went to Richard and Meggie's and carved pumpkins!  We watched Shutter Island and ate pumpkin bread too!  It was a lot of fun! Here are a few of those pictures:

Our pretty pumpkins before they were carved!

Wicked

Last weekend the women of the Walker family decided to go on a girls night out for my grandmother's 69 birthday!  We went to see Wicked in Memphis.  Even though our seats were on the very back row of the very back section, we still had a blast.  Bringing binoculars was not a bad idea!

How to Camp when there is a Fire Ban!

We went camping with our good married friends Richard and Meggie Butler a few weeks ago when there was still cool crisp air!  We planned and grocery shopped for our camping trip.  Meggie and I were really excited about roasting marshmallows over the fire.  Then, Richard dropped the news that there was a fire ban and there would, sadly, be no campfire! We made the best of it anyway!

This is how Richard and Meggie "camp"...
